They listen to our needs and discuss how they can help..
no advice to be given as they are spot on..
From our first experience, have an open conversation ,they see what work you are doing and discuss how they can help..."who said excellence is not being the best is doing your best"
Asked for 10 and they suggested to ask for more based on our annual accounts....how excellent are they
You feel they are part of your team and they are professional.

The Trust is focused on supporting marginalised groups in London who are not always able to access the opportunities offered by the capital.
We have never been approached to ask if a staff member or Trustee could visit us, and we would welcome this.
Our current grant is for 5 years which provides great stability for our work.
Provide clear instructions on how to complete reporting requirements.

We have applied several times, first in 2012, then again in 2018 and 2019...each time we were unsuccessful. I have applied again this year 2022. I would like more feedback as to why our applications have been unsuccessful

Less writing more come and see us in action! Some Charities have professional fundraisers. We don't! I think this puts us at a disadvantage. Also it can be challenging trying to describe the work we are engaged in adequately. People who are good at face to face work aren't necessarily good at form-filling
The online form works..and I was notified just before my time ran out!

Excellent asset to London voluntary sector, in particular for BAME or BMER communities in addressing inequalities.
+ They do their homework prior to visiting the organisation following the grant application. They listen and make constructive suggestions so groups stand a good chance in being successful. Some do not visit, do not provide feedback, just often a negative reply to the request. They make us feel as partners when we approach them.

They are an excellent organisation, they will be supportive and you can be completely open. They have a how can we rather than a why cant we fund perspective. (obviously if the criteria match).
Fund managers are also good advisors. Tim Wilson provides critique and input to strengthen post grant investment propositions. They are patient and understand things dont always happen immediately or as planned and work with you to get the optimal output.

I have experienced funds from them twice. In my current organisation and a previous one. they are funding areas that require support to help deliver sustainable and impactful organisations.
Link the grant process to the ability to invest socially. I think this is already underway.
They are like a partner in your journey rather than a typical funder parent / child relationship. They listen, input with valuable comments and help to deliver an optimal outcome. Often those with the money have the power and control. CBT and their Fund Managers share this power and empower their grantees.
Patient support. They fund through the lens of the recipient. Not from a position of power. This is very unusual. A good example is the reduction in reporting through a Covid and post covid world. They thought about the organisations in their portfolio. What pressures they might have and sought to alleviate some of this.

Make it more interactive. Writing a report once a year doesn't make the funder and grantee very well connected.
Recognises the current challenges of community groups and proactively supports them with their Funder Plus model
