We are a specialist grant-maker. We mainly support work to strengthen financial integrity in the UK and tackle the UK’s dirty money problem. We have a history of supporting high potential UK non-profits which make a difference in low income countries. We take an engaged approach, as a proactive funder.

The Joffe Trust is not a silent partner. They proactively seek to convene the sector they operate in, and will expect to be present as you explore this with your peers and partners. This is a helpful role, but also demands engagements for which you may not be funded under your grant.

Joffe Trust is very committed to building a community of grantees, and encouraging their collaboration.
If you had one piece of advice to give to this funder (about grantmaking or anything else), what would it be?
Partnerhsip building is a process of growing confidence, and shared ownership. There will be times, when grantees need to do this in frank exnchages that aren't likely with a funder in the room. Ethically, there may be concerns about the precedent set by a funder also being present in meetings with target advocacy audiences.
How was your relationship overall with the funder?

Joffe Trust is with you for the long haul, even if your grants are short.

Joffe Trust is a very approachable funder and I would encourage potential applicants to call or meet the trust staff to see if their proposal is a good fit.
