We are a specialist grant-maker. We mainly support work to strengthen financial integrity in the UK and tackle the UK’s dirty money problem. We have a history of supporting high potential UK non-profits which make a difference in low income countries. We take an engaged approach, as a proactive funder.

Our experience with the Joffe Trust has been wonderful. The team have been helpful and have shown genuine interest in helping us grow. Understanding we are a small charity with growth potential, giving brilliant feedback. Overall, most approachable, impactful donor we have engaged with.

We found writing a 10 page application was quite challenging, as we wanted to use all the space to maximum effect, but it takes a while to draft a good 10 pages. Once we had the application we got great feedback and had a really good discussion with trustees.

I think the Trust punches above its weight in terms of the convening work that it does in addition to its grants. It's also playing a crucial role in supporting groups working on under-resourced but vital issues, like tax justice and corruption.

Adds value to its grant-making by bringing grantees together and looking for cross-cutting gaps in capacity, and encouraging strategic reflection.
If you had one piece of advice to give to this funder (about grantmaking or anything else), what would it be?
Perhaps making the application process a bit easier - relative to the size of the grants that the Trust typically provides it's quite challenging.
