We are a specialist grant-maker. We mainly support work to strengthen financial integrity in the UK and tackle the UK’s dirty money problem. We have a history of supporting high potential UK non-profits which make a difference in low income countries. We take an engaged approach, as a proactive funder.

I's definitely worth talking to the Trust Secretary about the fit of the proposed project with Joffe's priorities before applying

We would advise them to know before beginning their request, what they’re going to do and how that will deliver the aims of JCT. How they’re going to this given the available resources, and who they need to get on board to help them do what they can’t do on their own. And finally, how all this will actually make change happen in the real world.

Gives solid advice on strategy and organisation, and is forthcoming with introductions to other relevant funders and stakeholders.
If you had one piece of advice to give to this funder (about grantmaking or anything else), what would it be?
Look out to long term objectives, even given the inherent delivery risk involved. Some projects can deliver great changes but need time.
How was your relationship overall with the funder?
Excellent

They are honest and straightforward and don’t play games, which is refreshing. Very well connected – very valuable.

(As far as I'm aware) they are achieveing their goals - they appear strategic and clear about what they want to do.
Tell us one thing that this funder does really well
We appreciated the opportunity to meet the Director and discuss our application. The Director also provided fairly detailed feedback after the Trustees meeting.
How was your relationship overall with the funder?
Excellent
Is there anything else that's be useful for others to know to understand this funder?
They are focussed and very selective, so make sure you are on track with their goals and don't bend yours to meet theirs! The chances of success are small given the high numbers of applications they receive.

This funder has specific interests, so research what they are, who/what they have funded before, and try to make contact with the trust to develop a relationship first. They also have a very personalised approach which we found very helpful.
