We are a specialist grant-maker. We mainly support work to strengthen financial integrity in the UK and tackle the UK’s dirty money problem. We have a history of supporting high potential UK non-profits which make a difference in low income countries. We take an engaged approach, as a proactive funder.

Couldn't put in 'other' or n/a as I don't understand the question. Do you mean in terms of reachability - responsive to communications, etc, or do you mean in terms of provising for those with disabilities?

Hard to tell as the aims are structural, and it's super hard to measure change that big. (Wish this survey gave me the capacity to say 'other' or 'does not apply'.

Actually understands the need for unrestricted funding and investment in fundraising capacity. In fact I single the Joffe Trust out for praise in my forthcoming book for this reason!
If you had one piece of advice to give to this funder (about grantmaking or anything else), what would it be?
You're doing a great job. If there's just one thing I would ask, it's that you're much clearer on your website about the causes you fund, perhaps by giving examples of causes you would turn down. This will make it much easier for me to know which of my clients I can refer to you.

Read the information on tbe website carefully. Make contact and talk to the Trust staff early in tbe process, they are approachable and honest and will let you know whether it is worth proceeding, and if it is, will explain the process and timing.

Tell us one thing that this funder does really well
Funds work that is otherwise difficult to fund, especially in early stages. Willing to take risks. Keeps a focus, and when tbe focus chnagest doesn't move on too quickly (which can create problems for existing grantees)
If you had one piece of advice to give to this funder (about grantmaking or anything else), what would it be?
A long shot - but it would be great to develop a slightly more formal ralationship with one or more larger donors to act as a 'feeder' system for tbe most successful/promising grantees to help scale up, once they have proved viability and impact

If you had one piece of advice to give to this funder (about grantmaking or anything else), what would it be?
Joffe has been an excellent and catalytic funder because of the depth and focus of its engagement. Working with bigger funders is important to leverage that into greater change. The only point of caution is perhaps that there's always a difficult balance for a funder between being engaged in the issues (important and good), and sometimes being in the room when a more open discussion might be possible if they weren't.
