Yapp Charitable Trust
We make grants for running costs and salaries to small registered charities in England and Wales to help sustain their existing work. We will not fund work that does not focus specifically on one of our priority groups. Applicants that reflect our grant making policy have the best chance of success. We offer grants only to registered charities with a total annual expenditure of less than £40,000.

The application is straightforward and communication with the Trust is prompt, friendly and helpful. The great thing about the funding is that is can support core costs, which is unusual in our experience.

It is great that the trust is prepared to help small charities meet their core costs, rather than having to "design" a project to obtain funding. This is particularly important for us given the field we work in, where it is difficult to raise funds to meet ongoing costs of providing the much needed service.

The main reason for needing a Grant. Up to date financial information, any information that would support the grant application.
There isnt always sufficient room on the form, prepare & send a separate statement that will help to explain why a Grant is being sought

I found the online form very straightforward to complete probably about 1 hour but I supported it with my own statement so over all about 5 hours.
Whether the application is successful or not I personally found the whole experience really good. E mails were quickly replied to without delay
How successfully do you think this funder is accomplishing its goals as a funder?
Excellent
Based on the degree of flexibility of the various grant offers & the superb back up response that I received I would imagine that they are very successful.
I particularly liked the option of a Grant spread across 3 years which was ideal for the A&DJl`s requirements

Nothing the whole experience of seeking the Grant was first class

I think that I have covered everything whether the A&DJL`s grant application is accepted or not, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process

They should have an understanding of why they are applying in the first place. They should be able to support the application with financial statements, forecasts, accounts etc
They should include separately any other information that they believe is relevant

It was the Community Foundation Wales that put our League in touch
Is there anything else that's be useful for others to know to understand this funder?
I thought the process was straightforward relevant & flexible. I liked the idea of a 3 year funding cycle in case you only need small amounts but spread over a longer term
When I needed to contact them I found that they responded within 24 hours

Our application for a grant was dealt with quickly and we received the offer within 2 months of our request. They are very easy to deal with.
